How to Build Klaviyo Landing Pages in 10 Minutes (No Shopify Dev Needed)

TL;DR: Klaviyo landing pages let you build a standalone, hosted Black Friday early-access page in about 10 minutes, with no Shopify developer, no theme edits and no 10-day dev queue. Create a “Black Friday Early Access” list, go to Website > Landing pages, connect the page to that list, keep the design simple, check mobile, and then send new subscribers to a success page that pushes them to load their carts now. Point all your traffic at that one page and your list grows fast.

Key Takeaways

  • Klaviyo landing pages are standalone, Klaviyo-hosted pages under Website > Landing pages, so you don’t need a Shopify developer.
  • What used to take 10 hours to 10 days with a developer now takes about 10 minutes.
  • Create a dedicated Black Friday early-access list first, then connect the landing page to it.
  • Keep the design simple: one headline, one promise, one form. Always check mobile font sizes.
  • Add a second step for SMS opt-in or a gifting question to collect zero-party data.
  • The success page is where the money is: send subscribers to load their carts now, which triggers abandoned cart flows before Black Friday.
  • Send all paid, organic, email and SMS traffic to this one URL instead of your homepage.

This Klaviyo hack is so easy it should be illegal.

For most of my career, launching a landing page meant filing a ticket with a Shopify developer. If you were lucky, it took 10 hours. If you were unlucky, it took 10 days. By the time the page went live, the campaign it was built for was half over.

When I ran retention at Adorama, B&H and Global Industrial, that kind of lag cost real money every Q4. Today I can build the same page inside Klaviyo in about 10 minutes, and so can you. Here’s the exact process we use at HiFlyer Digital to build Black Friday early-access pages for our clients. Save this one, because you’ll want it every time you’re building your holiday list.

Want to watch me build one start to finish? Here’s our internal SOP walkthrough:

Watch the SOP: How To Build Custom Klaviyo Landing Pages Fast >

What Are Klaviyo Landing Pages?

Klaviyo landing pages are standalone web pages that Klaviyo builds and hosts for you, with a signup form connected straight to your email and SMS lists. You find them under Website > Landing pages in your Klaviyo account.

They’re not the same as the signup forms you already run on your site:

  • Signup forms (popups, flyouts, embeds) sit on top of or inside your existing Shopify pages.
  • Landing pages live on their own URL. You can link to them from ads, social bios, influencer posts, SMS and email without touching your storefront.

That second part is why this matters. Your landing page doesn’t have to live on your Shopify site at all, so you don’t need a developer, a theme change or a QA cycle to launch one.

Why Should Ecommerce Brands Build a Black Friday Early-Access Page?

An early-access page turns October traffic into a warm Black Friday list before the noise starts. In my Q4 framework, October is for Reactivate, November is for Revenue and December is for Repeat. The early-access page is your October list-building machine.

Here’s why it works:

  • Shoppers start early. 55% of shoppers buy before Black Friday. If you wait until Thanksgiving week to start collecting emails, you’ve already missed them.
  • Early access feels exclusive. “Be the first to shop our Black Friday deals” is a far better reason to subscribe than “join our newsletter.”
  • You get a clean segment. Everyone on that list told you directly that they want your Black Friday offer. That’s the audience for your early-access sends, your Thanksgiving-night resend and your SMS drops.
  • Dedicated pages beat the homepage. I tell every brand to give each campaign its own landing page and never send traffic to the homepage. A focused page with one job converts better than a page with 40 links.

Step 1: Create a Black Friday Early-Access List

Before you build the page, create the list the page will feed. That’s where your future buyers will collect.

  • In Klaviyo, go to Audience > Lists & segments and create a new list.
  • Name it clearly, for example Black Friday 2026 – Early Access.
  • Keep it separate from your main newsletter list so you can target, suppress and report on these signups on their own.

Doing this first means you can just select the list when you set up the page instead of hunting for it later.

Step 2: Create Your Landing Page in Klaviyo

Go to Website > Landing pages > Create landing page, name it, give it a title and connect it to your early-access list. That’s the whole setup.

  1. In the left-hand menu, go to Website, then Landing pages.
  2. Click Create landing page.
  3. Name the page for internal use (for example, “[Brand] – BFCM Early Access”). Don’t overthink it; you can change it later.
  4. Set the landing page title, which is what shoppers see in their browser tab. Something like “Sign Up for Black Friday Deals First” works.
  5. Select the list you created in Step 1 (Black Friday 2026).
  6. Click Create landing page.

You’re now in the editor. On a good day, you’re about two minutes in.

Step 3: Build the Page (and Keep It Simple)

Add your brand’s look and feel, but keep the page simple: one headline, one promise, one form. The most common mistake I see is overdesigning. A messy page kills conversions.

  • Branding: Use your logo, brand colors and fonts so the page feels like your store.
  • Headline: State the value in a few words, for example “Get Early Access to Black Friday.”
  • Email field: Make sure the form collects the email address and that the submit button actually submits the form.
  • List check: Confirm that submissions go to the right list. If you get this wrong, your early-access campaign goes out to nobody.
  • Background: You can add a background image to make it look better, but a plain background keeps things clean and loads fast.

If you want to go further, add a background image with an overlay and some product GIFs. That’s an option, but only once the simple version is working.

Step 4: Optimize for Mobile

Check the mobile view before you publish. Most of your holiday traffic will see this page on a phone.

Klaviyo links the desktop and mobile versions, so a change you make on one carries over to the other. That’s a big time saver, but you still need to review mobile on its own:

  • Make sure fonts aren’t too big. Headlines that look great on desktop often wrap badly on mobile.
  • Keep the form and button above the fold.
  • Make sure tap targets are large enough to use with a thumb.

Step 5: Add SMS and Zero-Party Data Steps

After the email step, add a second step that collects a phone number or asks a question. This is where a simple page becomes a smart one.

  • Phone number: Collect SMS or WhatsApp opt-ins. SMS is how you reward, reinforce and build a relationship during Black Friday week.
  • Gifting question: Ask “Who are you shopping for?” and save the answer as a profile property. Now your Black Friday emails can be segmented by persona instead of blasting everyone with the same message.
  • Other data: Category interest, price range or anything else that helps you send the right message to the right person.

Remember the rule: right person, right message, right time, repeat. Every answer you collect here makes your November sends more personal.

Step 6: Design a Success Page That Drives Cart Loading

Don’t end on “Thanks for signing up.” Send subscribers back to your store to start loading their carts for Black Friday. This is the most important part of the whole setup.

Most brands get the signup and then let the shopper leave. Instead, your success page should say something like:

“You’re officially on the list! Start building your cart now, so you’re ready the second Black Friday deals go live.”

Add a button that sends people to your best-sellers or gift guide. Here’s why that matters:

  • It triggers your abandoned cart flows. Every cart they build starts your add-to-cart and checkout-started automations. In a well-built program, those flows run on short delays (about 45 minutes for add-to-cart and 30 minutes for checkout started).
  • It pre-loads the purchase. When Black Friday hits, they don’t have to browse again. Their cart is already full; now it’s just marked down. One click from your email or text and they’re checking out.
  • It gives you behavioral data. You learn what each subscriber wants before you write a single Black Friday email.

The money is in the follow-up, and this success page sets up the follow-up.

Step 7: Name the Form, Publish and Test

Rename the form, publish the page, copy the URL and test the full experience yourself before you send any traffic.

  1. Rename the form so it’s easy to find in reporting, for example “Black Friday Deals First.”
  2. Click Publish. Klaviyo gives you a live URL for the landing page.
  3. Test it end to end on desktop and mobile: submit your own email, check that the profile lands on the right list, complete the SMS step, and click through the success page to the store.
  4. Make sure your welcome or early-access confirmation flow fires as expected.

Tech stress-testing is one of my five keys to a big Black Friday weekend. Do it now, not on November 10th.

How Do You Drive Traffic to Your Klaviyo Landing Page?

Send every traffic source you control to this one page. Because it’s a standalone URL, you can use it everywhere:

  • Paid ads: Point Meta, Google and TikTok early-access ads at the page instead of your homepage.
  • Organic social: Put it in your Instagram and TikTok bios and in every BFCM teaser post.
  • Email and SMS: Push your existing subscribers to opt into early access so they land in the high-intent segment.
  • Transactional emails: Add a banner to order confirmations and shipping notifications.
  • Influencers and affiliates: Give them one simple link to share.

The page captures the lead and the success page sends them back to your main site to shop. You get the subscriber and the site visit. Drive all your traffic here and your list will grow fast.

Do You Still Need a Shopify Developer for Landing Pages?

For list-building and early-access pages, no. Klaviyo landing pages cover what most brands used to wait days for: branded design, a connected form, multi-step capture, mobile optimization and a live URL.

You’ll still want a developer for complex product pages, custom checkout experiences or heavy theme work. But for “get on the list for Black Friday,” Klaviyo is faster, cheaper and easier to update. Most brands use only a small part of what Klaviyo can do. I call it paying for Ferrari features and driving it like a Toyota. Landing pages are one of the easiest ways to use more of what you already pay for.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Connecting the wrong list: Always confirm that submissions land on your early-access list.
  • Overdesigning: Too many images, too much copy and too many links all reduce signups.
  • Skipping mobile QA: Oversized fonts and a button below the fold will hurt your conversion rate.
  • A dead-end success page: “Thank you” with no next step wastes your highest-intent moment.
  • Launching late: Build it in October. Every week you wait is a week of traffic you don’t capture.
  • Not testing: Submit the form yourself on every device before spending a dollar on ads.

The Bottom Line

Landing pages used to take 10 hours to 10 days and a Shopify developer. Now they take about 10 minutes in Klaviyo. Create your Black Friday early-access list, build a simple branded page, check mobile, add SMS and a gifting question, and finish with a success page that gets shoppers loading their carts now. Then send every ad, post, email and text to that one URL. Stop winging Q4 and start winning it.

The HiFlyer Digital Klaviyo Landing Page SOP

This is the internal SOP our team uses to build campaign landing pages in Klaviyo for our clients. Use it as your build checklist. You can also watch the full video walkthrough here.

Purpose: Build campaign-specific landing pages directly inside Klaviyo without waiting for a Shopify developer. Use these pages for Black Friday / Cyber Monday early access, holiday promotions, product launches, VIP lists, giveaways, email and SMS list growth, paid media campaigns, influencer campaigns, lead generation and special offers.

The goal isn’t just to collect an email address. The goal is:

Traffic → Signup → Capture Intent → Continue Shopping → Purchase

A successful landing page moves the customer forward instead of ending the journey after signup.

Step 1: Define the Landing Page Goal

Before you touch Klaviyo, decide exactly what the page needs to do:

  • Campaign: Which campaign is this supporting? Example: Black Friday 2026 Early Access.
  • Primary conversion: What do you want the visitor to do? Example: Join the Black Friday early-access email list.
  • Secondary conversion: Do you also want SMS signups, WhatsApp signups, customer preference data, gifting information or product interests?
  • Post-signup action: Where should the visitor go after signing up? Examples: Shop Best Sellers, Shop New Arrivals, Build Your Black Friday Cart, View Gift Guide, Shop Collection, Take Product Quiz.

Never build the page without knowing the next action.

Step 2: Create the Klaviyo List First

Do this before creating the landing page. In Klaviyo, go to Audience → Lists & Segments and create a dedicated list for the campaign.

  • Use a clear naming convention: [Campaign] – [Year] – [Signup Type]. Example: BFCM – 2026 – Early Access.
  • This list becomes the destination for everyone who submits the landing-page form.

QA check: Confirm the list exists before moving forward. Don’t assume the landing page will be connected correctly later.

Step 3: Create the Landing Page

  1. In Klaviyo, go to Website → Landing Pages.
  2. Click Create Landing Page.
  3. Add the internal page name. Example: BFCM 2026 Early Access.
  4. Add the public-facing page title. Example: Get Black Friday Deals First.
  5. Select the list you created in Step 2.
  6. Create the page.

Step 4: Set the Page Title

Don’t leave the default Klaviyo page title, or the browser tab may show an internal or meaningless title. Use a descriptive, campaign-related title, for example Black Friday Early Access | [Brand Name]. For search-oriented evergreen pages, include the main topic or keyword naturally, for example VIP Offers & Early Access | [Brand Name].

QA check: Open the published page in a browser and confirm the browser-tab title displays correctly.

Step 5: Configure the Fallback / Redirect URL

Add a default URL that visitors can reach if the Klaviyo landing page becomes unavailable. Use a relevant destination on the brand’s main website, such as the homepage, signup page, best sellers, main collection or a promotional page. Don’t send visitors somewhere unrelated to the campaign.

Step 6: Configure a Custom Domain If Needed

Klaviyo’s default landing-page URL may look something like brand.myklpages.com/…. That works, but it may not be ideal for paid media, social sharing or customer trust. When it makes sense, set up a branded custom domain such as pages.brand.com, offers.brand.com or email.brand.com. Your campaign URL could then be pages.brand.com/black-friday, which gives customers a cleaner, more trustworthy experience.

Important: Setting up a custom domain may require access to your DNS/domain provider. Don’t make DNS changes without authorization.

Step 7: Build the Page Structure

Keep the landing page simple. Don’t turn a signup page into a full website. Recommended structure:

  1. Logo: The correct brand logo, sized appropriately.
  2. Main headline: State the benefit right away. Example: GET BLACK FRIDAY DEALS FIRST.
  3. Supporting copy: Explain why someone should sign up. Example: Join our early-access list and be the first to know when our biggest Black Friday offers go live.
  4. Email field: Keep it simple. Example: Enter your email.
  5. CTA: Use benefit-driven language. Instead of “Submit,” use GET EARLY ACCESS or JOIN THE VIP LIST.

Step 8: Add a Countdown Timer

For deadline-driven campaigns, add a countdown timer to create urgency. It works especially well for Black Friday, Cyber Monday, product launches, early-access periods, limited drops, holiday shipping deadlines and flash sales.

Place the timer near the main conversion section. Recommended order: Headline → Supporting Copy → Countdown Timer → Signup Form.

Example: BLACK FRIDAY EARLY ACCESS STARTS IN: 03 DAYS : 14 HOURS : 27 MINUTES. Enter your email to get access first.

Countdown rules: The timer must point to a real deadline. Confirm the date, the time, the time zone and what actually happens when the timer reaches zero. Don’t use fake or permanently resetting urgency. If the campaign changes, update the timer immediately.

Step 9: Add SEO Content

Campaign landing pages should have enough relevant copy to explain the page clearly to visitors and to search engines. Don’t keyword-stuff, and don’t put giant blocks of copy above the form. Conversion is still the priority, so keep the signup above the fold and put supporting content further down the page.

  • Page title: Black Friday Early Access | [Brand]
  • H1: Get Early Access to [Brand]’s Black Friday Sale
  • Intro copy: About 50–100 words explaining what the promotion is, who it’s for, why someone should join and what they’ll get.
  • Supporting section: Useful campaign information below the main signup section, such as what Black Friday early access means, what to expect (early sale notifications, exclusive offers, product drops, restock alerts, gift recommendations) and natural mentions of key product categories.
  • FAQ: For larger campaigns, consider questions like “When does the Black Friday sale start?”, “How do I get early access?”, “Will early-access subscribers get special offers?” and “Can I sign up for text alerts?”

SEO rule: Write for humans first. SEO content should strengthen the page, not make a simple landing page feel bloated.

Step 10: Apply Branding

Match the brand you already have. Check the logo, fonts, brand colors, button colors, button styling, background colors, photography, spacing and tone of voice. If it makes sense, have your design team create a branded background or campaign graphic. For Black Friday, that could be product imagery, gift imagery, holiday creative, campaign graphics or subtle branded patterns.

Don’t overdesign the page. The form and CTA should stay obvious.

Step 11: Optimize Desktop and Mobile Separately

Klaviyo may link styling changes between desktop and mobile, but don’t assume a desktop design will look good on mobile. Check both versions, and unlink styling if you need to adjust mobile elements separately. Pay close attention to headline size, paragraph size, logo size, button size, timer size, image cropping, spacing and form width.

Mobile rule: Without much scrolling, the visitor should understand right away: What is this? Why should I care? What do I do next?

Step 12: Add Optional SMS / Data Collection

If the campaign strategy calls for it, add a second step after the email signup. Possible fields:

  • Phone number for SMS marketing
  • WhatsApp, where it applies
  • Who are you shopping for? Myself, Partner, Kids, Friends, Family
  • What are you interested in? Use categories relevant to the brand

You can use this information later for segmentation and personalization. Important: Don’t add fields just because you can. Every extra question adds friction, so only collect information you have a plan for.

Step 13: Verify the Form Destination

This is one of the most important QA steps. Select the email form field / submit action and confirm that List to Submit To → Correct Campaign List (for example, Black Friday 2026 Early Access). Don’t assume it’s right just because you selected the list during setup. Check it manually. A form connected to the wrong list can break segmentation, campaign targeting, automations, reporting and welcome flows.

Step 14: Build the Success Experience

Do not end with “Thank you for signing up.” That’s a dead end. Someone just raised their hand and told you they’re interested, so give them another action.

Example: YOU’RE OFFICIALLY ON THE LIST. Now get ready for Black Friday. Start building your cart so you’re ready when the deals go live. CTA: SHOP BEST SELLERS.

Other CTA options: BUILD YOUR CART, START YOUR WISHLIST, SHOP THE GIFT GUIDE, DISCOVER BEST SELLERS, FIND YOUR FAVORITES. Link the CTA to a relevant Shopify destination. Whenever possible, keep the visitor moving from the Klaviyo landing page back into your main store.

Step 15: Connect the Post-Signup Automation

The landing page shouldn’t stand on its own. Decide what subscribers receive after they join the list. A possible automation:

Signup → Confirmation / Welcome Message → Campaign Expectations → Product Discovery → Preference Collection → Early-Access Reminder → Sale Launch

For BFCM, the messages could be:

  • Email 1: You’re officially on the list.
  • Email 2: Here’s what to expect.
  • Email 3: Start building your wishlist.
  • Email 4: Black Friday starts tomorrow.
  • Email 5: Your early access is live.

The exact sequence depends on campaign timing.

Step 16: Add Analytics / Tracking

Where available and needed, set up third-party analytics and coordinate with your marketing or analytics team on tracking. At a minimum, you should know your landing-page views, form submissions, conversion rate, email signups, SMS signups, traffic source and downstream revenue.

Use UTM parameters when you drive traffic from campaigns, for example utm_source=meta&utm_medium=paid_social&utm_campaign=bfcm_early_access. That makes it easier to see which channels are actually building the list.

Step 17: Publish the Landing Page

Before you publish, verify the list, headline, page title, offer, CTA, links, countdown deadline, desktop design, mobile design, branding, SEO copy, success page, redirect/fallback URL and analytics requirements. Then click Publish and copy the live URL.

Step 18: Test the Entire Experience

A page isn’t finished just because it looks right in the editor. Test the live page.

  • Desktop test: Open the published URL, enter a test email, complete every step, confirm the success page appears, click the final CTA and verify the destination.
  • Mobile test: Repeat the process on mobile and check fonts, images, buttons, fields, the countdown timer, page speed, spacing and CTA visibility.

Step 19: Verify the Subscriber in Klaviyo

After the test, go to Audience → Lists & Segments → [Campaign List] and confirm the test subscriber appears. Don’t skip this step. A success message doesn’t prove the subscriber was added to the correct list.

Step 20: Test the Automation

If the list triggers a welcome or campaign flow, confirm the test profile enters that automation correctly. Check the trigger, filters, email consent, SMS consent where it applies, timing, messages, links, personalization and exit conditions. The whole customer journey should work before you send traffic to the page.

Step 21: Get Approval

Send the live or preview page to the brand owner or stakeholder before significant traffic is sent. Ask them to confirm the offer, dates, copy, branding, creative, links, legal language, countdown deadline and post-signup destination. Once they approve, document the approval.

Step 22: Drive Traffic

The biggest advantage of this system is that one landing page can become the central destination for campaign acquisition. You can send traffic from:

  • Meta Ads → Landing Page
  • TikTok Ads → Landing Page
  • Instagram → Landing Page
  • Influencers → Landing Page
  • Organic Social → Landing Page
  • Email → Landing Page
  • SMS → Landing Page
  • QR Codes → Landing Page
  • Partner Campaigns → Landing Page

Instead of waiting for Shopify development, your marketing team has a dedicated campaign URL ready to go.

Step 23: Monitor Performance

Once traffic starts coming in, monitor:

  • Landing page views: How many people reached the page?
  • Signup conversion rate: What percentage submitted?
  • Email vs. SMS capture: How many contacts came in through each channel?
  • Traffic source: Which channel produced the highest-quality signups?
  • Post-signup click rate: How many people clicked “Shop Best Sellers,” “Build Your Cart” and so on?
  • Revenue: Did these subscribers eventually buy?

The goal isn’t just “How many emails did we collect?” The better question is: “How much buying intent and revenue did this page create?”

Our 8 Internal Rules

  1. Build the list first. Never build the landing page and figure out segmentation afterward.
  2. Keep the page simple. The purpose is conversion, not winning a design award.
  3. Mobile is not an afterthought. Always inspect and adjust mobile separately.
  4. Verify the actual list. Never trust the configuration without submitting a test profile.
  5. Never create a dead-end success page. Every signup should have a logical next action.
  6. Use real urgency. Countdown timers must match actual campaign deadlines.
  7. SEO supports conversion. Don’t bury the signup experience under unnecessary SEO copy.
  8. Think beyond the signup. The landing page is one step in the customer journey.

The HiFlyer Landing Page Framework

Think about every campaign landing page as:

Traffic → Value Proposition → Urgency → Email Capture → SMS / Zero-Party Data → Success → Shop → Build Intent → Automation → Purchase

The biggest mistake is optimizing only the signup. The subscriber isn’t the finish line. The purchase is.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where are landing pages in Klaviyo?

In the left-hand navigation, go to Website, then Landing pages, and click Create landing page. Klaviyo hosts the page and gives you a live URL when you publish.

Do I need a Shopify developer to build a Klaviyo landing page?

No. Klaviyo landing pages are built in a drag-and-drop editor and hosted by Klaviyo, so they don’t need to live on your Shopify theme. A developer is only needed for complex custom pages.

What’s the difference between a Klaviyo landing page and a signup form?

Signup forms (popups, flyouts and embeds) appear on top of or inside your existing website pages. Landing pages are standalone pages on their own URL that you can link from ads, social bios, email and SMS.

How long does it take to build a Klaviyo landing page?

About 10 minutes for a simple early-access page: create the list, create the page, connect the list, brand it, check mobile, add a success page, then publish and test.

What should the success page say after someone signs up?

Confirm they’re on the list, then push them to start loading their cart with a button to best-sellers or your gift guide. That triggers abandoned cart flows and pre-loads the Black Friday purchase.

Can I collect phone numbers on a Klaviyo landing page?

Yes. Add a second step after the email field to collect SMS or WhatsApp opt-ins, or ask a zero-party question like who they’re shopping for, saved as a profile property for segmentation.
